Better Workplaces
Workplace Wellbeing & Skills Training
Practical, evidence-based training that helps people handle pressure, communicate effectively and work better together.
Tailored workshops and programmes for teams and organisations in Queenstown and beyond.
Better Minds = Better Workplaces.
Workplaces function better when people have practical ways to respond to pressure, distraction, change, conflict and setbacks.
The goal is to help people respond more effectively when they show up.
This is practical psychological and behavioural skills training (not therapy) that participants can use both at work and in everyday life.
Help Your Team:
Handle Pressure
Stay effective when stress, uncertainty or difficult emotions show up.
Stay Focused
Bring attention back to what matters and make clearer decisions under pressure.
Communicate Better
Respond more constructively in conversations, disagreements and difficult situations.
Build Resilience
Recover from setbacks and adapt when things don't go according to plan.
Get Unstuck
Notice unhelpful patterns and develop more useful ways of responding.
Act With Purpose
Connect day-to-day behaviour with the kind of person, teammate or organisation you want to be.
HOW IT WORKS
Training People Actually Take Part In
The aim is not to give people another presentation about why wellbeing matters. Participants practise skills they can actually use.
Practical
Sessions use guided exercises, discussion, demonstrations and simple tools rather than relying on lecture-style teaching.
Safe
There is no forced personal sharing or expectation that employees disclose private issues. The focus remains on learning and practising skills.
Tailored
Content, examples and delivery can be adapted around your workplace, people and current challenges.
Training can range from focused workshops through to multi-session programmes designed to build skills over time.
THE APPROACH
Practical Skills Grounded in Psychological Science
The training draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) and decades of behavioural science research into psychological flexibility, wellbeing and effective behaviour.
ACT has been researched across workplace, healthcare, education and performance settings, with a growing body of workplace research supporting its use for helping people respond more effectively to stress, pressure and difficult internal experiences.
At the centre of the approach is psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, adapt and take useful action even when difficult thoughts, emotions or circumstances show up.
Rather than teaching people to eliminate stress, think positively or simply “cope better”, the focus is on developing practical skills for responding more effectively to the realities of work and life.
And because knowing a skill is different from being able to use it, the training is experiential. Participants practise noticing what gets in the way, responding differently, and taking effective action — building skills that can continue to be used long after the training finishes.
