    What's in the Name? Why Think Blue Tree?

    The unique combination of words underscores the key elements that are needed in our uncertain and fast changing modern world. It is the combination that is vital to our personal flourishing and happiness.

     

    ‘Think’ covers our unique human trait- our ability to form complex thoughts and introspection! Our ability to interact with our own thoughts is valuable and is the essence of human nature and the thing that makes us unique. If we learn to manage our mind, we will flourish!

     

    ‘Blue’ is the colour that represents wisdom. Wisdom is the tool that forges our choices and actions into something meaningful. It helps us make good choices and take actions in alignment with our values.

     

    ‘Tree’ is the representation of growth, resilience, flexibility and connection. Trees are a universal symbol in almost all cultures for these things. Trees are flexible and can weather storms and play a vital, connected role on our planet- just as we do.

     

    Combined, Think Blue Tree is a symbol and reminder to manage our minds, make valued choices, and take committed actions. It encourages us to live wisely, grow, stay flexible, and be resilient, enabling us to respond effectively to whatever comes our way.

    What is Mental Health Coaching?

    Mental Health Coaching is a collaborative approach that equips you with the skills and strategies needed to navigate difficult situations, thoughts, and feelings. 

     

    It’s all about empowering you to build a life that’s fulfilling and meaningful, figuring out what really matters to you, what kind of person you want to be and what kind of life you want, all while managing your challenges effectively.

     

    Mental Health Coaching is active, practical, and focused on the present and future. We use evidence-based methods such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), lifestyle medicine, and practical philosophical methods to help you develop the ability to respond to your difficult thoughts, feelings and situations more effectively and ultimately improve your overall psychological and emotional wellbeing.

     

    Mental Health Coaching not only deals with mild to moderate mental health issues, but with personal growth, mental fitness and general health & wellbeing as well. 

     

    One of the main ways we help is by assisting you in the development of a flexible mindset (known as Psychological Flexibility) so that you are able to respond effectively to your difficult situations, thoughts, and feelings which helps you move towards a better life. This is also the key to being resilient to life’s challenges.

     

    In the unique Think Blue Tree approach, we also draw from practical philosophies such as Stoicism and Existentialism (among many others) and these are also integrated seamlessly with Philosophical Integration Coaching (PIC) which aims to merge practical approaches with deep insights and understandings of timeless ideas and wisdom.

     

    Mental Health Coaching sees every person as a whole human being, and all of us are faced with the struggles that go with that. We aren’t sick, broken or need ‘fixing’. Mental Health Coaches do not diagnose mental illnesses or prescribe medication- though we are happy to work alongside you if you are taking medications, we just don’t advise you on what you should or should not do with them.


    The ultimate aim of what we do together is help you increase your ability to flourish. The ancient Greeks called this state of flourishing Eudaimonia, and by aiming for it, we will grow and adapt and be flexible to whatever comes our way. Life gets better!
